Many simply ignore the problem and keep moving. That’s a dilemma when fascism is supposed to the diametrical opposite of Communism. One problem with that approach is that it is almost impossible to come up with a description of fascism that would exclude, say, Fidel Castro’s Cuba or Joseph Stalin’s Russia. Other are simply descriptive, focusing on the “anatomy” of one fascist regime or regimes. So they come up with these sometimes goofy or unwieldy definitions. I would argue that’s because they can’t bring themselves to place it squarely on the left side of the ideological spectrum and part of the “revolutionary tradition” starting with the French Revolution. How are you defining it in this book?ĭefinitions vary wildly among academics. “Fascism” is such an overused word that it has almost become meaningless. There’s often nothing else available to stuff clothes and belongings in when children are moved from home to home while in foster care. The Garbage Bag Suitcase in the title is a reference to the number of times kids in care often move houses. Truly heartbreaking and poignant, The Garbage Bag Suitcase is a story of a young woman’s success despite aging out of a child welfare system that is badly broken. It’s a sad, brave and very real story that is not at all uncommon, but is rarely told. The number of paranormal romances published each and every year involving werewolves is staggering! Simply searching for werewolf romance books online just about put me over the edge. While any sort of paranormal beings (werewolves, vampires, bear shifters, demons, etc.) may not be everyone’s cup of tea, these werewolf books have an incredibly large following. See? Werewolf books are a guaranteed mood booster. It also doesn’t hurt that the fated mates trope-and therefore werewolf romances-is almost always higher up there on the heat level, since the character’s bodies recognize the need to get it on ASAP. There is something so deliciously decadent about big bad werewolves being absolutely powerless to love and their preordained mate. Much of my obsession with werewolf romance books comes via the fated mates trope that almost always permeates these paranormal books. Whenever I need a book that is guaranteed to delight or something to pull me out of a reading slump, werewolf romances are my very first choice. Werewolf romance novels are my comfort reads.
